Nas Nas Mein Lazynas

This article is not for the people who are active, diligent, energetic and hardworking (their discretion is advised). I am scribbling after almost 5 months; honestly speaking I thought quite often about penning down many hot topics, but there was some holy energy which was stopping me, yes I was well on my way to discover the power of this energy "Laziness". Somebody famously said "hard work has a future payoff but laziness pays off now" and rightly said as we all crave to enjoy that extra 5 minutes sleep before jumping off the bed (as if we struggled whole night to flatten our back and by the time we started to stretch the alarm set off), but nevertheless hats off to the champ who created the snooze function in alarms otherwise usual good morning wish could have sounded really - "sarcastic".

Coming back to the "Art of Laziness" it is very much like a process or transition from being frustrated when contemplating on one’s own tendency of being lazy to a stage where you start seeing it as a blessing and enjoy it by accepting it as "being yourself". I remember once, one of my friend "Jhingur" was eating Dal (Lentils/beans) like soup and I asked him dude why aren't you eating rice or chapatti or any vegetable with it - his answer was a jaw dropping fact that made me understand that to what extent laziness could go. He said; I feel that it’s too much job to chew chapatti or rice and it is much easier just to sip in Dal which provides me enough nutrition’s to nourish the body. It struck a chord with me, and I had silently discover this character who’s thoughts were about to enlighten my awareness on this topic.

Staying with him I uncovered that his one liner Emails or one word SMSes were a pain for his colleagues with whom he use to communicate over his blackberry. Very proud of his blackberry, he taunted at the original punch line of iphone "if you don't have an iphone, well you don't have an iphone", and quoted, I don't have an iphone because I'll never use all features of iphone". That’s where I felt he slapped the concept of having thousand of apps to make life easier, Jhingur was not at all willing to invest his single second in understanding new features of iphone, scrolling the list of apps, or doing the tedious round of creating apple id to be able to download the first app. (for him phone means calling, messaging and texting). To an extent I liked the way he thought, as given a man who writes one liners to his CEO or one word messages to his colleagues, expecting him to turn savvy is as excruciating as it could get for a girl who has to reply to a marriage proposal sent from Tushar Kapoor (bottom line: it’s a huge task & denial is apparently tempting).

Quite contrary to Jhingur, Shri Shri Ravi Shankar Ji, the founder of Art of "Leaving", I mean that he teaches people to leave (get rid of) their lazy spirits by making them meditate and do breathing exercises. The reason why it is anti to the concept of Jhingur’s “Art of Laziness” is because: here he doesn’t practise any art of leaving rather art of maintaining what he is and also in which he accepts that life is not meant  to prove something to others like one is punctual, tidy, in shape, aware and all what is right, it’s more like "going with the flow", like ordering junk food cause they deliver at home and it avoids pain to cook or drive to restaurant, wearing a light pullover to cover-up un-ironed shirts, enjoying the different shades of the same jeans over the week, buying the darkest colour possible for the bed sheet (after all what is not seen is non existing) and last but not least running behind the busses or trains (cause the extra 5 minutes he sleeps results in less time to bath n dress up). People like Jhingur see positive in everything, as he boasted once, I sprint every day to catch the train or bus and this is the only form of exercise that I do during the whole day and so my fitness completely depends on the extra sleep and this sprint. No matter how shitty the situation is, it’s better to see the up side of it - I concluded.

On friendship day Coffewithbharat (CWB) dedicates this to all the lazywalkers!!
Peace :)
